19th Century Oak Country House Letter Box W411
A rare and charming table top country house posting box from the Victorian period. In the form of a sentry box or small building, it is made of oak. 2 inner compartments are fed by 2 posting slots in the roof, "For Post" and "Received" impressed and painted clearly on a zinc plaque above the door. An original key opens the sprung lock. The door has a glass window to view the post, and an inner access panel to an information paper sheet.
The Posting Box is in very good original condition, with only the roof showing signs of use. Circa 1880
