19th Century Bunyard Patent Art Folio Stand V498
19th century Folio Stand, patented by Bunyard of London. The folio is made like a book, compressed paper pulp with a faux leathered exterior which is finished with a gilt and tooled border. It is supported by a ebonised wood A-frame stand which closes with brass hinges. It adjusts from closed to horizontal by means of brass retractable feet, the "Bunyard Patent" mechanism.
Further art display is provided by a small easel that slides up from the back.
The condition is generally good, with the borders and edges showing expected wear. Circa 1870
