18th Century Small Brass Dredger
Antique dredgers from the 18th century came in a range of sizes, the pierced holes allowing for food to be sprinkled or coated with flour or other things. This small dredger may have sprinkled spices. A slightly flattened domed top fits snugly on its cylindrical pot. Inscribed lines throughout are softly worn. Circa 1750
