Antique Yew High Back Windsor Armchair V861

Early 19th century high splat back Windsor Armchair. Made of yew wood, with an elm seat, it is a classic example of the best quality chair making from the Yorkshire region. Ornately turned arm supports, and legs terminating in ball feet, are complimented by the fir tree motif of the fretted splats in the back. A crinoline stretcher unites the legs. Sturdy and in original condition, this armchair belies its age. Circa 1820
