Victorian Painted Wooden Truncheon V687

A 19th century turned wood truncheon. It is probably made from ashwood, with the handle displaying the fine graining of the wood. The main staff is painted black, with the emblem/arms of the enforcement group to which it belonged painted in red and gold at the tip. Circa 1880
