19th Century Wooden Painted Truncheon V686

A fine Victorian wooden truncheon, turned from boxwood or fruitwood. The painted decoration includes a quartered heraldic shield and a crown. There is a lovely tactile feel and patina to the ring turned handle. General wear to the surface is expected, but the truncheon is in very good order. circa 1880
Length: 44.5cm (17 1/2")
