Victorian Mahogany Jardiniere V146
A fine quality wooden brass banded jardiniere from the late 19th century. Made of mahogany, it is constructed in the style of country "coopered" containers, wooden sections held by metal bands. This fine version has a scalloped rim, and tapers down to 4 arched integral feet. It has 2 brass ring handles. Lovely soft, undisturbed rivetting holds the bands, with a later fixing to the lower band. It has a rich colour and is in very good condition. Circa 1900
