Victorian patent folding Music Stand. Stamped "Harrow & Co" of Portland Street London, it is cleverly designed and superbly made. Constructed of brass and gilded, it is fully adjustable and folds into a compact, easily carried musician's friend, and was marketed by Harrow for use by "Military Bands, Orchestras, Reading and News Rooms, Libraries, Studies and Drawing Rooms"! The lectern is chamfered, with a shaped central splat and 2 folding height extenders at the top. The outer central column is finished with chased decoration. The stand is in excellent condition, the gilt surface showing the wear of age. Circa 1880
