Early 19th Gilt Landscape Overmantel Mirror. U825

DescriptionEarly 19th century landscape wall mirror in the Classical style. Decoratively restrained, a moulded cornice with applied balls sits above a plain frieze panel. Barley-twist side columns and stylised acanthus leaf capitals, with a simple moulded base, complete the frame. The gilt surface is original, the gold leaf gently showing signs of wear, as is expected of an antique mirror of this age. The mirror glass is old, not original to the frame but with good depth and colour and in good condition. Circa 1820
Height: 73cm (29")
