The double lyre carved back is painted in a classical manner, with a greek/Roman helmet, grapes and foliage. Floral wreaths continue the decoration on the back, arms and legs. The painted surface is in superb condition, as is the structure of the chair. It is re-upholstered and ready to add a touch of elegance to any room. Circa 1860
