Vintage Slingsby-Steelheld Ladder. T230

This pine ladder was made by the London company of H.C. Slingsby (founded in 1893). They specialised in robust labour saving equipment for factories and shops, and began making ladders in 1920. This example is still sturdy, with all its original rungs and the 2 steel sprung bands for tightening and maintaining the ladders stability. It has suffered a fracture on one of the uprights, which can be seen in the photographs, but strongly mended with glue and a metal band. Circa 1930s.
Length 244cm (96 inches)
Width 35.5cm (14 inches)
