19th Century Chequerboard Games Tripod Table. T660

A mid 19th century tilt-top tripod table with a chequerboard top. The square top is veneered with rosewood and maplewood, with matching banding around the games board. The tapered column is hexagonal, set into a triangular flat base, all veneered with maplewood.
The combination of woods gives this table a real glow. The condition is excellent, a good waxed surface and original brass catch. An old repair to one foot is barely discernible on the surface. Circa 1840.
Height 71cm (28 inches)
Top 39cm (15 1/4 inches) square
