19th Century Burr Yew Wood Tea Caddy. T655

DescriptionA handsome 19th century sarcophagus shaped tea caddy. The exterior is veneered in the richness of burr yew wood, each section of wood outlined with boxwood stringing. The fitted interior has 2 removable lidded tea boxes, and a central space for a mixing bowl. Crushed deep red velvet lends sumptuousness to the inner lid. It has its original pressed brass handles. The matching brass paw feet are, however, missing. Otherwise this Georgian Tea Caddy is in excellent original condition. Circa 1800
