Regency Penwork and Lacquered Box. T675
Regency penwork and Chinoiserie lacquered box of casket form. The surface is a rich mustard yellow ground with gilding, lacquered scene with figures on the lid, and pen work borders. probably originally a work box, it is now empty but retains its vivid turquoise paper interior. Its original pressed brass ring handles and paw feet are beautifully detailed and have much of their gilded surface. It is in sound but un-restored condition. Circa 1810.
