J & E Ratcliff Victorian Brass Letter Clip. T225
A fine example of the Victorian desk organiser, the Letter Clip. Made by the Birmingham company, J & E Ratcliff, it is of pressed brass with a metal spring mechanism. This model, a hand with an elegant cuff, bracelet and ring, set on a cartouche-shaped base, is clearly stamped with the makers name. Circa 1870
