18th Century Mahogany Oval Pembroke Table.

This gem of a table will light up a room this festive season. The Pembroke Table, developed in the 1780s, sees its best expression in the oval shape. This small oval example looks exquisite opened or closed. Mahogany, chosen for its grain, is finely cross banded around the edge and the single drawer (also the dummy drawer on the opposite side). The square tapered legs, edged with a contrasting line of a light wood such as sycamore, end in high spade feet. Oval medallions are inlaid with a floral design beside the drawer. Pressed brass handles adorn the drawer. A fine quality piece of Georgian furniture in excellent condition. Circa 1780.
