19th Century Mahogany Banjo Barometer

A mid 19th century mahogany banjo mercury barometer. The case is well shaped, with a breakneck pediment, and the edges finished with fine light and dark stringing. The 8 inch silvered dial is enclosed by a convex glass, as is the Dry/Damp dial at the top, both set into brass surrounds. The barometer also has a thermometer and a spirit level. It is in good working order, the only replacement being the turning knob. Circa 1840.
