19th Century Florentine Carved Giltwood Mirror.
This mirror needs no baubles to make a room sparkle this Christmas! It is a substantial Florentine oval wall mirror dating from the mid 19th century. The carved wood gilded frame is a profusion of flowing acanthus leaves. The gilding has been further enhanced with burnishing.
The mirror glass is not contemporary with the frame. As with such a large delicate frame, there have been minor repairs, but the general condition of the original gilding is bright and fresh. Circa 1860.
