A true set of 6 early square century spindle back chairs. The shaped top rail end in "ears", and the back uprights are square in section. They are typical of chairs made in the Lancashire/Cheshire area of England in the early 19th century. Ash and alder are the main woods used, with rushed seats. They are a good set, having an excellent original surface.
