19th Century Wire-work Nursery Guard.
A D-shaped nursery guard, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed with a flat iron base, with iron uprights to hold the fine wire-work vertical mesh. The top rail is covered with brass. A very useful feature of this guard is the attachment of a pair of brass fire tool holders. The condition is good, with the brass top rail comfortably showing its age.
