19th Century Small Leather Covered Domed Box
A fine receptacle for small treasures, this early 19th century box has an air of travel and mystery. Made of wood and covered with fine leather, it is barrel- shaped, with a domed top. The leather was originally stained red, as can be seen on the interior rims and the bottom, but is now a wonderful well-polished nutty brown. Copper ring handles and a small silver (possibly plated) engraved plate to the top keep the appearance simple and clean.
