Antique French Carved Bread Dish W207
A stunning late 19th century French Bread Dish/Board. Turned from a country wood (possibly fruitwood or sycamore)it is beautifully carved, including the words: DONNEZ-NOUS NOTRE PAIN QUOTIDIEN. It has been well used, as attested to by the many knife marks in the dish and the inner rim of the dish. The patina of this piece makes it particularly unusual, attractive and collectable. Circa 1890
